The Amanda Reed Memorial was founded by Diane Reed in 2009 shortly following the death of her 27-year-old daughter.
The mission of the Amanda Reed Memorial is to educate our community on the devastating impact of domestic violence. By raising awareness, we all hope to build a brighter future where the community is a safer place for everyone and where relationship violence no longer exists.
Amanda’s memorial has a scholarship in honor of her that provides educational resources for graduating seniors in Winnebago, Stephenson, Boone Counties who have a commitment to ending domestic or teen dating violence.
The memorial also proudly partners with local organizations such as Remedies Renewing Lives, The Family Peace Center and Children’s Safe Harbor, offers self-defense classes for high school students and donated over 70 digital cameras to 6 local law enforcement agencies in the community.
