Amanda Reed was born on August 22nd, 1982. She was generous, kind, had a joyful spirit and lit up any room she walked into with her contagious laugh.

It was on September 5th, 2009 that Amanda’s life was tragically taken by her estranged boyfriend of only 12 weeks. The lives around her have since been changed forever.

Domestic violence and abuse can happen to anyone, yet the problem is often overlooked, excused, or denied. Abusers isolate you from your friends and family, ruin your self-esteem and your spirit, they control you and question your every move.

Amanda’s memorial works through projects and different events to reach out to the community about the problem of domestic violence and teen dating violence. It is our hope that through each project, these young adults become educated, empowered and inspired in a movement to affect a change in attitudes; and that they will have a brighter future where relationship violence is less prevalent making our community a safer place for everyone.
